Following on from the success of the installation of the automated brick slip cutting machine last year, a further additional machine has been added this week.
This machine has been specifically designed to help improve our ability to produce high volumes of "groovy" slips for the next innovation of Pro-clad 3 mechanical fix off site pre-formed panels that are proving extremely popular with our customers. This 'belt and braces' approach of having the second mechanical clip restraint in addition to the epoxy bonded slip could be the future of brick slip cladding.
Pro-clad in Wienerberger white stocks looking sharp in the London sun this week. Project completed last year with a tight budget hence the straight jointed corner details rather than external 90 degree corner panels but it worked well. Render to both side elevations but brick slip cladding to front and rear.
Looking forward to seeing this when the scaffold comes down but already very impressed!
unusual application for Pro-clad to see it used on a radius curved on plan area but its worked well with the corbel and two-tone brickwork.
Look what the Postman delivered today; a great way to start 2018!!
Pro-Steel brick faced lintels and bolt ups to masonry support are now covered under our Certification for the products produced from the Stanley Fab-Steel Limited factory.
The Queen’s University project (Belfast) was designed by TODD Architects Ltd. Felix O'Hare acted as brickwork contractor using Lincoln Red bricks by Wienerberger which were pre-fabricated onto Pro-Clad panels.
Awarded Best Refurbishment Project in 2017 at the Brick Awards. All the narrow vertical columns and horizontal soffit return areas are clad in Wienerberger Lincoln red prefabricated onto Pro-clad panels.
"It is an ambitious project which has been successful in enhancing the site and providing a range of accommodation. The aim to replace a concrete clad building within a brick courtyard at the heart of the University has been achieved. The new building sits well within its surroundings.'
"The project relied on stripping back the existing 1960's building to the concrete frame, manipulating the frame and refitting walls, floors, stairs, lifts, services and the external skin. This has fully realised the potential of the site and the choice of brick has embedded the building within its surroundings."
"Good brickwork is evident despite the restraint imposed by an existing structure not designed for 'brick' cladding. The University was interested in a long-term solution that would benefit them in the future, thus sustainability has been an integral consideration."

Design by Sheffield based Bond Bryan Architects and built by Limetree Building Ltd with Dark Multi Smooth bricks by Forterra prefabricated onto Pro-Clad panels, this project has been awarded Best Education Building in 2017 at the Brick Awards.
"The locale inspired the design of this building - the grid pattern of narrow streets suggested the atrium and prevalent smooth red brick called for a match. Both concepts have been enhanced to great effect, producing a building of exceptional quality."
"At right angles to that elevation the ground level slopes down and facing brickwork become a key component of the building and its context on the other three elevations. The colour and texture of the chosen brick has been selected to match those qualities of the facing bricks of the neighbouring older buildings."
"Particular care and liaison with the manufacturer was established to ensure consistency of colour throughout production of the standard bricks and the large quantity of special shaped bricks used in decorative bond patterns that form striking textural features to selected areas of the elevations. Similar care and attention was exercised in bricklaying and a high standard of craftsmanship is evident."

This gives assurance that our products are manufactured in line with customer requirements to a consistently high standard and subject to rigorous quality approval.
In response to customer feedback we have launched a comprehensive range of Brick Slips and Pistol Corners. For Cladding projects where there are no bricks on site or no requirement to match a specified brick, we can supply slips from our stock range. These products manufactured in a UK standard 215 x 65mm size but we can often produce other dimensions to suit Architect requirements.
Whilst these slips and pistol corners are designed for use with our Cladding products, we are happy to supply them loose together with our specialist 2-part Epoxy Brick Resin. A pallet of 2880 no. slips (96 boxes of 30) at 215mm x 65mm covers an area of 48SQM.
